Unfortunately, years of wear and tear and a recent injury forced me to get a Total Knee Replacement. Our son had a good experience with another doctor at this group so we decided to have them perform the surgery. Terrible decision.
At the very first appointment, we met with Dr. Caufield and attempted to schedule surgery as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, it would be several weeks and phone calls (most unanswered) to finally get a date. Although we got a date, they would not give us a time until two days before surgery. Frankly, I was having second thoughts about Dr. Caufield and Orthopedic Doctors Denver and I should have canceled and saw another provider. Truthfully, if Dr. Caufield was asked to pick me out of a photo lineup, he would not be able to do so.
Nonetheless, surgery on July 10, 2024, performed at the surgical center owned in part by the doctor. They were very good on instruction on payment to bring - yes they contacted me several times about the $5600 deductible BUT they never contacted me about physical therapy following the surgery. The PT staff who worked with me directly following the surgery (get out of bed and walk down the hall and up some stairs prior to being discharged) expressed concern that I was not set up for PT prior to the surgery.
Apparently, Dr. Caufield spoke with me following the surgery but certainly not any day of the week following the surgery. I had left messages with questions for the "clinical team" which went unanswered, questions about medication which went unanswered, and questions about physical thereapy which have gone unanswered. Clearly after the co-pay check cleared they don't give a hoot about the patient or the patient's recovery.
All I can say is this is the worst care I have ever received in 58 years of life and at least 10 surgeries later. I cannot stress to any reader to run from this practice - Orthopedic Doctors Denver and Dr. Caufied.
